You know what got me into CDs? Growing up, my dad had a binder full of them. You can’t have moments like that with music libraries. We learned a lot about each other from the music we had and we respected each other’s love for hip hop. The other day I had a bonding moment with my roommate when we brought out our respective CD collections. Thankfully, I’m not there with Isaiah Rashad. That’s what happens when you want to be difficult. TLOP went Pirate Gold-being illegally downloaded over 500,000 times-in a day. Add that to the fact that there was another album delay because Chance wanted “Waves” on there… Kanye, you left me no choice. Only to see Jay-Z talk about royalties and “high fidelity streaming” What a disappointment. I saw all of those artists in that meeting thinking we were about to get We are the World 2014. I don’t care for “exclusive content.” I'm still salty at the TIDAL announcement advertisements. What kind of crap is that? How are you going to make me be a member when I’m only here for one thing?!
For whatever reason TIDAL had TLOP held hostage and fans were forced to cough up a membership fee for one album. Do you have any idea how dedicated of a fan you have to be to pre-order an album and plan to camp out now a days?! That was me until Kanye went on Twitter and said that not only will TLOP never be released physically, but none of his future albums will either. It wasn’t anything special or Kanye related. I had on outfit planned just in case I had to camp out. I even called Target to see what was up with pre-orders. I went on Kanye’s website every day just looking for a pre-order link. No physicals for TLOP? I was waiting for that one too! I was soooo patient with that album. Speaking of TIDAL, I got a bone to pick with them and Kanye.
How am I supposed to get something like that through TIDAL?! Is there a webpage for all of the thank you’s and production credits? Kanye West’s Graduation came with a poster. Cole’s Born Sinner and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Not only that, but think about the albums with lyrics in the disk booklet.
